List of Top 10 Best Selling Cars of January 2026: The Indian car market has started 2026 on a strong note, with several automakers, including Maruti Suzuki, reporting their highest-ever sales.
Tata Nexon, including the Nexon EV, emerged as the best-selling SUV last month with 23,365 units sold. This marks a 51.75 percent increase compared to last year, when 15,397 units were sold.
With this performance, the Nexon has also overtaken the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, which recorded sales of 19,629 units, to become one of the best-selling cars in the country.
What about the Other Models?
Tata cars also secured the second position on the list. The Tata Punch delivered its best-ever performance in January, recording 19,257 units in sales, which is an 18.64 percent increase compared to 16,231 units sold last year.
The Hyundai Creta, including the Creta EV, claimed the third spot with 17,921 units sold. However, this figure reflects a 3.24 percent year-on-year decline, as the model had sold 18,522 units in the same period last year. Meanwhile, the Maruti Brezza finished in fourth place with 17,486 units sold.
List of Top 10 Best Selling Cars of January 2026: Victoris enters the top-10 list
Last month, the Mahindra Scorpio range secured the fifth position among the top 10 best-selling SUVs with total sales of 15,542 units. The Maruti Suzuki Victoris entered the top-10 list for the first time, finishing sixth with 15,240 units sold.
Other popular models also featured on the list, with the Maruti Fronx taking seventh place after selling 13,353 units. The Hyundai Venue followed in eighth position with 12,413 units, while the Mahindra Bolero ranked ninth with 11,841 units sold. Completing the top 10 was the Kia Sonet, which recorded 10,998 units in sales.
