In the previous month, SUVs and compact cars continued to drive strong demand in the Indian market.
Tata Motors retained its leadership position, with the Tata Nexon becoming the top-selling car in the country as well as the highest-selling SUV. The model clocked 19,430 unit sales in February.
Following closely behind, the Maruti Dzire ranked second with total sales of 19,326 units.
Tata Punch, Hyundai Creta and Maruti Suzuki Brezza Positions
Tata Motors also secured the third position on the sales chart. The Tata Punch recorded sales of 18,748 units, making it the second best-selling SUV in the country.
Hyundai Creta attracted 17,938 buyers, ranking as the fourth highest-selling car overall and the third best-selling SUV.
In addition, the Maruti Brezza stood fifth on the list with sales of 17,863 units, while the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga claimed the sixth position with 17,807 units sold.
Maruti WagonR’s popularity remains strong
In February, the Maruti Suzuki WagonR secured the seventh position on the sales chart with 14,885 units sold, showing that its popularity remains strong.
The Maruti Swift followed closely in eighth place with 14,833 units sold. Mahindra & Mahindra’s Scorpio range ranked ninth after recording sales of 14,665 units.
Meanwhile, Maruti Suzuki’s premium hatchback Baleno claimed the tenth spot with 14,632 buyers, outperforming rivals such as the Hyundai i20, Toyota Glanza, and Tata Altroz.
