White House Orders 250 Cadillac Escalade SUVs for Presidential Motorcade, Trump Confirms
The White House is set to expand its presidential vehicle fleet after US President Donald Trump announced that an order for 250 Cadillac Escalade SUVs has been placed. Trump revealed the development during a visit to General Motors’ Milford Proving Ground in Michigan, saying the luxury SUVs would become part of the presidential motorcade.
The visit was significant as it marked the first time a sitting US president had toured GM’s century-old testing facility. During the event, Trump explored several of the automaker’s latest vehicles, watched a performance demonstration, and addressed employees and industry leaders.
GM Showcases American Manufacturing
General Motors used the occasion to highlight its commitment to domestic manufacturing and innovation. The company said it plans to invest more than $16 billion in manufacturing, engineering, and research activities across the United States this year. GM Chair and CEO Mary Barra welcomed the president and reaffirmed the company’s focus on strengthening production and developing future mobility technologies.
In his speech, Trump praised GM’s workforce and several of the company’s popular vehicles, including the Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra, Hummer, and Cadillac Escalade.

Cadillac Escalade to Join Presidential Fleet
Introduced in 1998, the Cadillac Escalade has become one of America’s best-known luxury SUVs. While Cadillac already builds the heavily armored presidential limousine known as “The Beast,” the newly ordered Escalades are expected to serve as support vehicles within the presidential convoy.
The 2026 Cadillac Escalade starts at around $90,000 in the US, with higher-spec versions crossing the $100,000 mark. Known for its spacious cabin, advanced technology, and strong road presence, the Escalade remains one of Cadillac’s flagship models and now appears set to play an even bigger role in official government transportation.
