2027 Kawasaki Vulcan S Updated: Gets More Torque and New Colour

Kawasaki has updated the 2027 Kawasaki Vulcan S cruiser for the 2027 model year. The company has kept most of the motorcycle unchanged from the 2026 version. However, Kawasaki has made a few important updates to the engine, brakes and colour options.

The 649cc parallel-twin engine now produces more torque than before. Kawasaki has also reduced the size of the front and rear brake discs. The new Vulcan S gets a fresh Metallic Carbon Gray colour with green highlights. Prices start at Rs 8.23 lakh, ex-showroom.

2027 Kawasaki Vulcan S Engine

The Vulcan S continues with its 649cc parallel-twin petrol engine. The engine produces 61hp of power and now develops 62.4Nm of peak torque.

Kawasaki had reduced the torque output by 1.4Nm for the 2026 model. The company has now restored that lost torque with the 2027 update. The power output and engine speed range remain unchanged.

Brakes and Suspension

Kawasaki has made a change to the braking hardware on the new Vulcan S. The front brake now uses a 272mm disc instead of the 300mm unit on the 2026 model.

The rear brake also gets a smaller 216mm disc. The previous model used a 250mm rear disc. Dual-channel ABS remains the only rider safety aid.

The suspension setup remains unchanged. The motorcycle uses a 41mm front fork with 130mm travel. The rear gets a linkage-type monoshock with 80mm travel and adjustable preload.

Design and New Colour

The 2027 Kawasaki Vulcan S gets a new colour option. Kawasaki now offers the cruiser in Metallic Carbon Gray with subtle bluish-green highlights.

The new shade replaces the Metallic Flat Spark Black colour from the 2026 model. The overall cruiser design remains unchanged.

Seat Height and Weight

The Kawasaki Vulcan S continues to offer a low 705mm seat height. This makes the cruiser accessible to a wide range of riders.

However, the motorcycle has only 130mm of ground clearance. Its kerb weight also remains unchanged at 235kg.

2027 Kawasaki Vulcan S Price

Kawasaki has priced the 2027 Vulcan S at Rs 8.23 lakh (ex-showroom). The new model costs Rs 10,000 more than the 2026 version.

Deliveries will start from mid-September 2026. The Vulcan S does not have a direct rival in India. The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 comes closest, but it costs much less at Rs 4.05 lakh, ex-showroom.
