Mahindra XUV 7XO Gets 5-Star Bharat NCAP Safety Rating
The Mahindra XUV 7XO has achieved a 5-star safety rating in the Bharat NCAP crash tests. The SUV performed strongly in both adult and child occupant protection tests. It scored 30.76 out of 32 points for adult protection and 44.97 out of 49 points for child protection.
Bharat NCAP tested the seven-seat AX7 diesel automatic variant in both FWD and AWD versions. However, the 5-star rating applies across the XUV 7XO range.
Mahindra XUV 7XO: Strong Adult Protection Score
The Mahindra XUV 7XO scored 30.76 points out of 32 in the Adult Occupant Protection test. The SUV earned 14.76 points in the frontal offset crash test and a full 16 points in the side movable barrier test.
The crash test showed good protection for most important body areas. The driver received good protection to the head, neck, pelvis, thighs and feet. The chest and tibia received adequate protection. The co-driver also received good protection in most areas, while the tibia received adequate protection.
The SUV also performed well in the side impact test. The head, chest, abdomen and pelvis received good protection. The XUV 7XO also passed the side pole impact test with an ‘OK’ result.

Mahindra XUV 7XO: Child Safety Score Remains High
The XUV 7XO scored 44.97 out of 49 points in the Child Occupant Protection test. It achieved 23.97 out of 24 points in the dynamic test.
Bharat NCAP used child dummies representing 18-month-old and three-year-old children. Both child seats faced the rear during the crash tests. The three-year-old dummy scored the full 8 points in the frontal test, while the younger dummy scored 7.97 points.
Both dummies received full marks in the side impact test. The SUV also scored 12 out of 12 points for child restraint system installation.
Safety Features on the XUV 7XO
Mahindra offers several safety features as standard across the XUV 7XO range. These include six airbags, electronic stability control, traction control, hill-hold assist, hill-descent control and ISOFIX child-seat mounts.
Higher variants add features such as a 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS and tyre pressure monitoring system.

XUV 7XO Improves on Its Pre-Facelift Model
The XUV 7XO builds on the safety record of the earlier XUV700. The older SUV scored 5 stars for adult protection and 4 stars for child protection in its 2021 Global NCAP test.
With its latest Bharat NCAP result, the XUV 7XO continues Mahindra’s strong focus on safety in the SUV segment.
