TVS Ronin Lineup Updated Ahead of Festive Season: New Base+ Variant Launched at Rs 1.42 Lakh

TVS Motor Company has updated its TVS Ronin 225 neo-retro roadster range in India ahead of the festive season. The biggest highlight is the introduction of a new entry-tier option called the Base+ variant.

Priced at Rs 1,42,490 (ex-showroom, Delhi), this new trim makes safety technology more affordable across the Ronin family. Alongside the new Base+ model, TVS has also added premium safety and convenience features to the Mid and Top variants.

TVS Ronin: New Base+ Variant Details

The TVS Ronin Base+ focuses on delivering superior safety at a competitive price point. It brings dual-channel ABS down to the ₹1.42 lakh price mark, offering better control during emergency braking on wet or loose surfaces. To complement the safety upgrade, TVS introduced two distinct color options for the Base+ variant:

• Sunlit Yellow

• Desert Mirage

Feature Upgrades Across Mid and Top Variants

TVS has enhanced the equipment levels on the higher-spec models as well:

• Mid Variant: Gains a Bluetooth-enabled SmartXonnect instrument cluster with turn-by-turn navigation and smartphone alerts, along with a integrated Type-C USB charging port.

• Top Variant: Receives a Traction Control System (TCS) for improved rear-wheel traction during acceleration, alongside a revised seat for better long-distance rider comfort.

Engine and Hardware Specifications

The mechanical foundation remains identical across the updated Ronin lineup. Power comes from the 225.9 cc single-cylinder, 4-valve, oil-cooled engine. It produces 20.4 PS of maximum power at 7,750 rpm and 19.93 Nm of torque at 3,750 rpm. The motor pairs with a 5-speed manual transmission fitted with an assist and slipper clutch. Suspension duties are handled by 41 mm upside-down (USD) front forks and a 7-step preload-adjustable rear monoshock.
