Ampere Nexus EX+ Design and Features

The Ampere Nexus EX+ retains the modern design of the standard Nexus electric scooter. It gets a practical urban scooter layout with a broad front apron, LED lighting and a comfortable floorboard. The new model is available in Carbon Knight and Steel Grey colour options. Ampere has focused more on mechanical and technology upgrades rather than making major changes to the exterior design.

The higher-spec Intellipack version adds more connected functions through the Ampere Connect app. These include live vehicle tracking, geo-fencing, real-time charging status, Find My Scooter, turn-by-turn navigation and remote diagnostics. Riders can also access trip reports, ride statistics, charging history, energy information, battery health data and service booking. The package offers more than 30 connected functions.

Ampere Nexus EX+ Powertrain and Battery

The biggest update comes in the powertrain. The Nexus EX+ uses a new 5kW electric motor that produces a claimed 202Nm of peak torque at the wheel. Ampere claims a 0-40 kmph acceleration time of 4.5 seconds. The company has also tuned the motor to offer stronger performance on flyovers, steep climbs and hilly roads. It should also help when the scooter carries a pillion or additional load.

The electric scooter uses LFP battery technology. Ampere says the battery has a designed life of up to 2,00,000km and comes with a five-year or 75,000km warranty. The scooter also gets an IP65-rated charger for improved protection against water and dust. The Nexus EX+ offers a claimed 136km IDC range.
