Nissan Planning a New 7-Seater SUV for Indian Market? Testing Begins
Nissan is preparing a new seven-seater SUV for the Indian market, and testing of the upcoming model has now begun on public roads. The new three-row SUV will share its CMF-B platform with the recently launched five-seat Nissan Tekton, but it will get a longer body and several design changes to create a distinct identity.
Nissan has already confirmed that the seven-seater will arrive in India in 2027. The latest test mule reveals some of the changes planned for the larger SUV, including revised lighting elements and a stretched rear section.
Nissan says the new SUV will not simply be an extended version of the Tekton.

Nissan 7-Seater SUV Expected Features
The upcoming Nissan seven-seater SUV will get a longer body than the Tekton to accommodate a third row. Spy images show additional length behind the rear wheels, along with a larger rear quarter glass. The front will retain some familiar Tekton design elements, including the inverted-L-shaped LED daytime running lights and LED headlamps. However, Nissan is expected to give the seven-seater a different grille and bumper design.
The rear will receive more noticeable changes. The test vehicle appears to use a new tail-lamp design instead of the C-shaped lighting signature seen on the five-seat Tekton. A thicker or segmented LED light bar could also connect the rear lamps. The number plate position may move lower to the rear bumper. The SUV is also expected to get a fresh alloy wheel design.
Inside, Nissan is expected to borrow several premium features from the Tekton. These could include dual 10-inch screens, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated and powered front seats, a 360-degree camera, automatic climate control and Level 2 ADAS. The seven-seater is expected to use a three-row layout, although Nissan has not yet confirmed whether it will offer six- and seven-seat configurations.
The Tekton currently offers Google built-in connectivity, a large boot and a turbo-petrol engine range. The seven-seater could use the same 1.0-litre and 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engines with manual and automatic gearbox options. Nissan has ruled out a hybrid powertrain for the Tekton, so the seven-seat SUV is also unlikely to get a hybrid setup at launch.
