Tata Sierra EV: Design

One of the most nostalgic design elements that Tata is reviving is the iconic wrap-around rear glasshouse, which made the original Sierra stand out in the ’90s. In the Sierra EV, this has been reinterpreted with a more seamless, modern-looking pillarless design, giving the SUV a floating roof effect and panoramic rear visibility.

The Sierra EV concept showcased clean body lines, muscular wheel arches, and minimalistic surfaces, giving it a bold yet understated road presence. It also features clamshell-style bonnet design, which adds a sense of ruggedness.

Expect the production version to feature full-width LED DRLs at the front, slim LED headlamps, and a connected LED tail lamp design at the rear, giving the Sierra EV a premium and futuristic appeal.

The Sierra EV is designed with an upright SUV stance, high ground clearance, chunky skid plates, and squared-off wheel arches, reflecting its off-road-inspired DNA. It will likely ride on 18-inch to 20-inch alloy wheels, depending on the variant.

Tata is likely to offer the Sierra EV in exclusive earthy tones, dual-tone color schemes, and contrasting roof options, giving it a lifestyle vehicle appeal aimed at urban explorers and adventure seekers.

Tata Sierra EV: Powertrain

Built on Tata’s Gen2 EV architecture, the Sierra EV is likely to offer multiple battery pack options, potentially ranging from 60 kWh to 80 kWh. These configurations are anticipated to deliver a driving range between 450 km and 550 km on a single charge, catering to both urban commutes and longer journeys.

The platform supports various drivetrain layouts, including rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD), providing flexibility in performance and handling characteristics.

Tata Sierra EV: Cabin

The Sierra EV’s cabin is expected to be equipped with contemporary features such as a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, dual-zone climate control, and a Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite. The dashboard may feature a multi-screen setup, enhancing the digital experience for both the driver and passengers.

Seating configurations are anticipated to include both five-seater and four-seater lounge options, emphasizing comfort and versatility.

Safety features are expected to encompass multiple airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a 360-degree camera system, and the aforementioned Level 2 ADAS, aligning with modern safety standards.

Launch Timeline

The Tata Sierra EV is slated for a launch in the second half of 2025, following the introduction of its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart. This strategic roll out aims to cater to a broad spectrum of consumers, from traditional SUV enthusiasts to early EV adopters.
