From TVS to Ola Electric: How many electric scooters were sold last month?

Electric two-wheeler makers have started the new year on a strong note, showing healthy growth in sales. TVS Motor Company has continued its impressive performance from 2025, during which it sold nearly 3 lakh units of the iQube electric scooter.

In January, TVS recorded its highest-ever monthly sales of 34,440 units, marking a 43 percent increase compared to 24,027 units sold in the same month last year.

Out of the 1.22 lakh electric scooters sold across the country last month, TVS alone accounted for 28 percent, highlighting its strong position in India’s fast-growing electric two-wheeler market.

Bajaj at Second Position

Bajaj secured the second position in the electric scooter market, increasing its market share to 21 percent. The company sold 25,520 units of the Chetak electric scooter last month, registering a 19 percent growth compared to 21,470 units sold during the same period last year.

Ather Energy maintained its third spot by selling 21,923 electric scooters, marking a strong 67 percent year-on-year growth and capturing an 18 percent market share.

Meanwhile, Hero MotoCorp’s Vida brand finished in fourth place with sales of 13,274 units, strengthening its presence in India’s electric two-wheeler segment.

Ola Sales Down

Ola Electric’s sales continued to decline, with the company finishing fifth in January after selling 7,512 electric scooters. This marks a sharp 69 percent drop compared to 24,413 units sold in the same month last year, reducing its market share to just 6 percent.

Meanwhile, Greaves Electric Mobility posted strong growth, selling 5,335 Ampere scooters, a 48 percent year-on-year increase. With this performance, Greaves climbed to the sixth position and is emerging as a strong competitor, putting pressure on Ola Electric amid its ongoing slowdown.
