Mercedes-Benz India has issued a voluntary recall for 30 high-end vehicles due to a potential fire risk linked to incorrectly reworked fuse boxes.
The issue was discovered during internal quality checks and affects some of the brand’s most premium models.

What’s the Problem?
The recall is related to fuse boxes that may not have been reworked properly. This defect could lead to Sudden loss of propulsion, Malfunctioning instrument cluster, Failure of restraint systems, and in worst cases, a thermal incident (fire risk)
Although no incidents have been reported so far, Mercedes is taking proactive steps to ensure customer safety.
Which Models Are Affected?
The recall covers 30 units manufactured between July 2023 and March 2024, including 16 units of the EQS electric sedan, 9 units of the S-Class / Maybach S-Class (petrol), 3 units of the GLC-Class (petrol and diesel), and 2 units of the AMG SL (petrol).
What Should Owners Do?
Mercedes-Benz India will contact affected customers individually and carry out the necessary repairs free of charge at authorized service centers. Owners are advised to respond promptly to recall notifications to avoid any safety risks.
