Surprise Turn at the Showroom: New Mahindra Thar Crashes Through Glass

New Mahindra Thar Crashes Through Glass

A joyous car delivery turned chaotic when a brand-new Mahindra Thar crashed out of a Delhi showroom. On September 8, 2025, Maani Pawar was happily taking delivery of her Thar when she decided to perform a lemon-crushing ritual a traditional way to bless the vehicle.

Unfortunately, she accidentally hit the accelerator instead of gently moving forward, and the SUV burst through the first-floor glass wall, landing upside-down on the pavement.

Thankfully, airbags protected Maani and a showroom employee, and no serious injuries resulted. The incident went viral, sparking debate about safety during celebratory rituals.

Lemon Ritual Backfires

To welcome good fortune, Maani placed lemons under the Thar’s tires only to mistakenly step on the accelerator. The SUV surged forward, smashed the glass barrier, and plunged from the first floor into the street below.

Everyone is safe

Inside the car were Maani, her husband Pradeep, and a showroom salesman, Vikas. Luckily, the airbags deployed immediately, and all occupants sustained only minor injuries. They were treated at Malik Hospital and released soon after.

A video capturing the overturned Thar on the pavement made rounds on social media. It prompted a wave of concern about the risks involved when traditional rituals take place inside showrooms, with many insisting safety should be prioritized over customs.

No Complaints, No Blame

Police confirmed that no complaints have been filed by either the couple or the dealership. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (East), Abhishek Dhania, verified the details and said everyone involved was safe and no legal action has been pursued so far.
