Skoda Auto India has announced a proactive recall of more than 800 units of its popular models like Kushaq, Slavia, and Kodiaq to address a possible mechanical defect.
The automaker has initiated this recall as part of its ongoing commitment to product quality and customer safety.
According to Skoda, the recall involves a potential defect in the front axle tie rod, which may be susceptible to damage under specific driving conditions. If left unattended, the issue could lead to abnormal steering response or noise, and in extreme cases, could compromise vehicle handling and safety.
The company has not reported any accidents or injuries related to this issue so far. The recall is being undertaken purely as a precautionary measure.

Which Vehicles Are Affected?
The recall affects a limited number of vehicles manufactured between March and June 2024, including: Skoda Kushaq (SUV), Skoda Slavia (Sedan), and Skoda Kodiaq (Premium SUV)
All affected models are equipped with specific chassis batches that may be vulnerable to the defect.
What Should Skoda Owners Do?
Skoda has started reaching out to affected customers via calls, emails, and messages. Customers can also check if their vehicle is part of the recall by entering their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on Skoda India’s official website or by contacting their nearest authorized dealership.
Skoda service centers will inspect and replace the tie rod component free of charge. The process is expected to take a few hours and will be carried out at the customer’s convenience.
Skoda’s Commitment to Safety
Skoda Auto India has been focusing heavily on customer satisfaction and long-term reliability of its products. The brand has seen strong growth with models like the Kushaq and Slavia, which are based on the India-specific MQB A0 IN platform. The Kodiaq continues to serve as the brand’s flagship SUV offering.
This recall reflects the company’s global safety protocols and its transparent approach to handling even minor product anomalies.
