Car company Volkswagen is gearing up to launch the iconic Volkswagen Golf GTI in India on May 26, 2025. This marks the first time the performance hatchback will be available in the country, arriving as a Completely Built Unit (CBU).

The honeycomb grille and sporty bumper enhance its hot hatch appeal. From the side, sharp character lines and 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels add to its dynamic stance. As per the reports the Volkswagen GTI accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds, with a top speed electronically limited to 250 km/h. Despite its sporty performance, the GTI manages a respectable fuel efficiency of around 12–14 km/l under mixed driving conditions. This powertrain makes the Golf GTI a true driver’s car, balancing everyday usability with track-capable performance.

The Volkswagen Golf GTI is set to launch in India on May 26, 2025, with an expected ex-showroom price of around ₹52 lakh. This performance hatchback will be imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), with an initial allocation of 250 units.
Deliveries are anticipated to begin in June 2025. In the Indian market, the Golf GTI will primarily compete with the Mini Cooper S, offering enthusiasts a blend of everyday usability and exhilarating performance.
