Yamaha has officially launched its latest electric scooter, the Yamaha EC-06, marking a major step in the company’s push into India’s rapidly growing EV market. This electric scooter has been launched at Rs 1,67,600 (ex-showroom).
The new EC-06 combines sleek, modern design with advanced electric powertrain technology, promising an efficient and stylish ride for urban commuters.
With rising demand for zero-emission mobility solutions, Yamaha’s latest offering is set to compete with other popular electric scooters in the market by offering strong performance, smart connectivity features, and a practical range.
The introduction of the EC-06 reflects Yamaha’s growing focus on sustainable transportation and expanding its presence in India’s electric two-wheeler segment.
Yamaha EC-06: Design
The Yamaha EC-06 stands out with its modern and sporty design that blends sleek curves with sharp lines, giving it a dynamic presence on city roads. Its lighting setup features advanced LED headlamps, DRLs, and LED tail lamps, ensuring excellent visibility and a premium look both day and night.
The scooter rides on a sturdy under-bone platform engineered for stability and agile handling, making urban commutes effortless.
With well-sculpted body panels, a refined color palette, and attention to detail in ergonomics, the EC-06’s design and platform reflect Yamaha’s commitment to style, comfort, and everyday practicality.
Yamaha EC-06: Powertrain
The Yamaha EC-06 is powered by an advanced Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (IPMSM), paired with a 4kWh fixed battery pack, ensuring smooth and efficient performance.
This electric setup delivers a peak power output of 6.7kW and 26Nm of torque, allowing the scooter to achieve a top speed of 79km/h, which is ideal for city commuting.
Charging is convenient, as the EC-06 can be plugged into a regular household socket and takes around eight hours for a full charge. On a single charge, it offers a certified range of 169km, making it well-suited for daily urban use without range anxiety.

Yamaha EC-06: Features
The Yamaha EC-06 will be offered in a single Bluish White colour, giving it a clean and premium appearance. For braking duties, the electric scooter features 200 mm disc brakes at both the front and rear, supported by a Combi Brake System (CBS) that helps maintain stability and control during sudden or hard braking.
Adding to its modern appeal, the EC-06 is equipped with full-LED lighting, including LED headlamps and tail lamps, which enhance visibility at night while giving the scooter a sharp, contemporary look.
To cater to different riding preferences, Yamaha has provided three riding modes – Eco, Standard, and Power. These modes allow riders to focus on maximum efficiency, balanced performance, or quicker acceleration depending on road conditions.
A Reverse Mode has also been included, making it easier to manoeuvre the scooter in tight parking spaces. Suspension setup includes telescopic front forks with hydraulic dampers and a rear coil spring, ensuring a comfortable ride over uneven urban roads.
