2027 Kawasaki KLE650 Revealed: 70 HP Adventure Bike Gets 21-Inch Wheel and SE Variant
Kawasaki has revealed the new 2027 Kawasaki KLE650 as a larger sibling to the recently introduced KLE500. The new adventure motorcycle combines a 649cc parallel-twin engine with rally-inspired styling, long-travel suspension and a 21-inch front wheel.
Kawasaki will offer the KLE650 in standard and SE variants, with international sales scheduled to begin in April 2027. The motorcycle focuses on long-distance touring while retaining the hardware needed for light off-road riding.
Both versions get traction control, electronic cruise control and switchable ABS as standard. The KLE650 SE adds several premium features, including a quickshifter, TFT display, tubeless tyres and a larger windscreen.

2027 Kawasaki KLE650: Design
The 2027 Kawasaki KLE650 gets a rally-inspired design with larger body panels than the KLE500. The motorcycle uses a compact trellis frame and a tall adventure-bike stance.
It rides on a 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoked wheel setup, giving it a stronger off-road focus than Kawasaki’s road-oriented adventure models.
The bike also gets a road-focused seat and long-travel suspension for improved comfort during touring. The standard model comes in Metallic Matte Graphenesteel Gray, while the KLE650 SE gets Pearl Storm Gray and Pearl Blizzard White colour options. Kawasaki will also offer accessories that can turn the bike into a more touring-focused or rally-oriented machine.
2027 Kawasaki KLE650: Powertrain and Suspension
The Kawasaki KLE650 uses a new-generation 649cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine. Kawasaki has equipped the engine with electronic throttle valves and revised its intake and exhaust systems to improve low- and mid-range torque and deliver smoother power at higher engine speeds. Kawasaki USA lists an output of 70 hp at 8,600rpm and 64 Nm at 7,500rpm.
The engine works with a six-speed gearbox and an assist-and-slipper clutch. Suspension duties come from a 43mm inverted fork with 210mm of travel and a rear Uni-Trak monoshock with 195mm of travel. The rear unit also gets adjustable preload.
2027 Kawasaki KLE650: Cabin and Safety Features
The KLE650 gets a strong electronics package for both touring and off-road riding. Standard equipment includes Kawasaki Traction Control, electronic cruise control and selectable ABS that allows riders to switch the system off for off-road use.
The motorcycle also gets smartphone connectivity and an LCD instrument display. The KLE650 SE upgrades to a TFT instrument panel and adds a bi-directional quickshifter, USB-C charging, handguards, an aluminium bash plate and a larger windscreen.
The SE also gets tubeless tyres, while the standard motorcycle uses spoked wheels with tube-type tyres. Braking comes from twin 300mm front discs and a 230mm rear disc.

2027 Kawasaki KLE650: Price and Rivals
Triumph has not announced the India price yet. The new Tiger 1200 will launch in March 2027 in GT Pro and Rally Explorer forms. The outgoing model starts at Rs. 19.39 lakh, so the updated motorcycle is expected to command a premium. Its rivals will include the BMW R 1300 GS and Ducati Multistrada V4.
