Kia India has introduced a new HTE (EX) variant of the Kia Carens Clavis, making its popular MPV range more attractive for family buyers. This new trim is positioned as a base-plus option and focuses on offering important comfort and convenience features at a competitive price.
With this launch, Kia aims to give customers better value without pushing them to higher variants. The Carens Clavis continues to target buyers looking for a spacious, feature-rich and reliable seven-seater for daily use as well as long highway trips. The new HTE (EX) variant strengthens Kia’s position in the growing MPV segment.
Kia Carens Clavis HTE (EX): Engine Options
The Kia Carens Clavis HTE (EX) is available with all three engine options. The MPV continues with familiar engines — a 1.5-litre petrol, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. These options focus on a balance of comfort, mileage and everyday usability.
Key Features Added
Compared to the standard base variant, the HTE (EX) offers several useful upgrades. These include an electric sunroof, automatic climate control, LED DRLs, LED cabin lights, and auto up/down driver window. These features add a more premium feel without a big jump in price.
By adding more features to a lower variant, Kia has made the Carens Clavis more value-for-money. This move helps it compete better with other MPVs and three-row SUVs in the Indian market.
Price of Kia Carens Clavis HTE (EX) start at around Rs 12.5 lakh (ex-showroom) for the petrol version, while the turbo-petrol and diesel variants are priced higher. All versions come in a seven-seater layout, making it suitable for large families.
