Chinese motorcycle manufacturer CFMoto has officially unveiled the new CFMoto 500SR Supersport, a high-performance middleweight sportbike designed to expand its growing SR lineup. The motorcycle features a sharp supersport design and shares its mechanical foundation with the retro-styled 500SR Voom.

However, the 500SR focuses more on track-inspired aesthetics and performance. It is powered by a high-revving 499cc inline-four engine and is equipped with premium components. The CFMoto 500SR aims to compete with modern lightweight supersport motorcycles on a global scale.

The bike has appeared in type-approval documents in China, suggesting that its official market launch could occur soon in select regions.

CFMoto 500SR: Design

The CFMoto 500SR adopts a bold supersport styling that aligns with the brand’s latest SR series motorcycles. Unlike the retro-themed 500SR Voom, this version features a much sharper and race-focused design.

The front fascia includes angular LED headlights with eyebrow-style daytime running lights, giving the bike a distinctive and aggressive look.

Fairing-mounted mirrors with integrated turn indicators, aerodynamic air-guide panels, and sculpted bodywork further enhance the sporty appearance.

The motorcycle also retains the striking dual under-seat exhaust setup, a design element that adds both visual drama and a track-inspired vibe. Overall, the design language closely resembles other CFMoto supersport models such as the 675SR-R and 750SR-S, creating a consistent identity for the brand’s performance lineup.

CFMoto 500SR: Powertrain

The CFMoto 500SR is powered by a 499cc liquid-cooled inline-four engine, which stands out as one of the motorcycle’s main features. This high-revving engine generates approximately 79 horsepower at 12,500 rpm and 49 Nm of peak torque at 10,000 rpm, positioning it as a strong contender in the middleweight sportbike category.

It is paired with a six-speed gearbox and includes a slipper clutch, which allows for smoother downshifts during aggressive riding. Additionally, reports indicate the inclusion of an upshift quickshifter, enabling clutchless gear changes for a more exhilarating performance experience.

With these specifications, the 500SR is expected to provide a thrilling riding experience reminiscent of classic inline-four supersport motorcycles, but in a more compact displacement.

CFMoto 500SR: Features and Suspension

The new supersport motorcycle features a tubular steel frame that offers structural rigidity while maintaining a lightweight design.

The suspension system consists of 41 mm adjustable upside-down forks at the front and a rear monoshock, both engineered to provide precise handling and stability at high speeds.

With a wheelbase of 1,395 mm and a kerb weight of approximately 187 kg, this motorcycle is lighter than the retro-styled 500SR Voom.

CFMoto has outfitted the 500SR with a variety of modern features that are typical of contemporary supersport motorcycles. The bike is anticipated to include a TFT digital instrument cluster capable of displaying riding data, gear position, and performance information.

Additional rider aids are expected to feature traction control, ABS, and advanced connectivity through the brand’s smartphone integration system.

Alongside the quickshifter and slipper clutch, these technologies aim to provide a well-rounded combination of performance, safety, and everyday usability.
