Suzuki GSX-R1000R and Yamaha WR155 R To Be Launch in June 2026
June 2026 is looking like an incredible month for motorcycle lovers in India. Suzuki and Yamaha are reportedly getting ready to launch two radically different performance bikes that cater to completely separate types of riders.
For the speed demons and track days, Suzuki is expected to bring back its legendary GSX-R1000R superbike, now updated to meet the latest strict emission laws.
Meanwhile, off-road junkies and weekend explorers are finally getting the long-awaited Yamaha WR155 R dual-sport motorcycle.
Even though these two bikes live in completely different worlds, their arrival shows just how much the Indian premium motorcycle space is growing, fueled by young riders looking for serious thrills.

Suzuki GSX-R1000R: Power, Specs, and What to Expect
The iconic Suzuki GSX-R1000R is geared up for a grand comeback to reclaim its crown among track enthusiasts. At its heart sits a massive 999cc, inline four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine pushing out a roaring 200 PS of power.
Suzuki has carefully updated this motor to pass the latest BS6 Phase-2 emission norms without losing any of its legendary, aggressive acceleration.
To keep all that power under control, the superbike comes packed with top-shelf electronics, including a ride-by-wire throttle, multiple riding modes, traction control, launch control, a bi-directional quickshifter, and cornering ABS. All of these settings can be managed easily through a sharp, full-color TFT screen.
Built on a super-lightweight chassis with aerodynamic fairings and bright LED lighting, it offers razor-sharp handling paired with a fully adjustable suspension and high-performance brakes.
Ready to take on rivals like the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, BMW S 1000 RR, and Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade, the GSX-R1000R is expected to launch with a price tag between ₹22 lakh and ₹25 lakh (ex-showroom).

Yamaha WR155 R: The Lightweight Off-Roader We’ve Been Waiting For
If you are a rider who prefers dirt trails and rough paths over race tracks, the Yamaha WR155 R is exactly what the doctor ordered. This lightweight dual-sport bike is already a massive hit in international markets, and it looks like Yamaha is finally bringing it to Indian shores by June 2026.
What makes it special is its engine—the highly reliable 155cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder motor taken straight from the popular R15 and MT-15, complete with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) and a 6-speed gearbox.
The WR155 R is built to take a beating, featuring long-travel suspension, massive ground clearance, spoke wheels, and knobby dual-purpose tires that grip dirt and tarmac equally well.
With its minimalist bodywork, digital instrument cluster, and tall, upright riding stance, it is the perfect tool for navigating broken city roads during the week and exploring tight trail woods on Sunday. Plus, it promises great fuel efficiency and decent touring comfort.
Yamaha is expected to price the WR155 R between Rs 1.80 lakh and Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom), putting it right in the ring with the Hero XPulse 210 and the Kawasaki KLX230.
