Renault Kiger Evolution Turbo Launched At Rs 7.89 Lakh
Renault India has expanded the Renault Kiger range with the launch of the new Kiger Evolution Turbo variant. The latest model has been launched at the starting price of Rs 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom).
The new variant brings the brand’s popular turbo-petrol engine to a more affordable trim level, making performance-oriented driving accessible to a wider audience.
It has been positioned between the lower and higher variants of the compact SUV and aims to offer the right balance of features, performance, and value.
With growing demand for turbocharged petrol SUVs in India, Renault hopes the new variant will strengthen the Kiger’s appeal in the highly competitive sub-four-metre SUV segment.
Renault Kiger Evolution: Design And Dimensions
The Renault Kiger Evolution Turbo retains the SUV’s bold and youthful design language. It features Renault’s signature front grille, sleek LED DRLs, sculpted bonnet, roof rails, and rugged body cladding that enhance its SUV character.
The compact SUV also benefits from high ground clearance and a sporty stance, making it suitable for both city roads and occasional highway trips.
In terms of dimensions, the Kiger measures 3,990 mm in length, 1,750 mm in width, and 1,605 mm in height, while its 2,500 mm wheelbase helps maximize cabin space. The SUV also offers a generous 405-litre boot capacity, one of the best in its segment.
Engine, Performance And Mileage
The biggest highlight of the new Evolution Turbo variant is its 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. The motor produces 100 hp and up to 160 Nm of torque, delivering noticeably stronger performance than the naturally aspirated version. The engine is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox and is designed to offer quick acceleration, smooth highway cruising, and improved overtaking capability.
The turbocharged engine has already proven itself in the higher variants of the Kiger and remains one of the strongest performers in the segment. Renault also claims fuel efficiency figures of around 20 kmpl, depending on driving conditions and transmission choice.
Cabin, Features And Safety
Renault Kiger Evolution Turbo offers a practical and feature-rich cabin. Buyers get an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, smartphone connectivity, digital instrument display, steering-mounted controls, rear AC vents, power windows, and multiple storage spaces. The cabin design focuses on everyday usability while maintaining a modern appearance.
Safety equipment includes six airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), ABS with EBD, Hill Start Assist, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), rear parking sensors, and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
