Triumph Bonneville 400 To Make Its Way on October 6? What Are We Expecting?
Triumph is preparing to reveal the much-awaited Triumph Bonneville 400 on October 6, 2026. The upcoming motorcycle will expand the brand’s 400cc family in India with a more traditional retro design. Triumph has already teased four new motorcycles for the October 6 event, and the Bonneville 400 is expected to be one of them.
The motorcycle has appeared in multiple test mule sightings, giving us a clear idea about its styling and hardware. It will follow the classic Bonneville design language while sharing its basic platform with Triumph’s smaller 400cc motorcycles.
The India-spec version is expected to use a 349cc engine.
Triumph Bonneville 400 Design: What Will Be There?
The Triumph Bonneville 400 will get a classic roadster design inspired by the larger Bonneville family. Test bikes have shown a large teardrop-shaped fuel tank, rounded side panels, chunky mudguards and a flat bench-style seat.
The motorcycle will also feature a round headlamp, round indicators, spoke wheels and a peashooter-style exhaust. Unlike the Speed 400 and other models in the 400 range, the Bonneville 400 is expected to use conventional telescopic forks with gaiters and twin rear shock absorbers.
Triumph will also use a new chassis and swingarm for this motorcycle. A single-pod circular instrument cluster is expected to complete its retro appearance.
Triumph Bonneville 400 Powertrain and Mileage
The Triumph Bonneville 400 is expected to use a 349cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled petrol engine for the Indian market. The engine could get a relaxed tune compared with the more performance-focused Triumph 400 models, with stronger low- and mid-range torque for everyday riding. Some reports indicate an output of around 36.5 bhp and 32 Nm, although Triumph has not officially confirmed these figures yet.
A six-speed gearbox is expected to handle transmission duties. The official mileage figure has also not been announced. Considering the engine and expected tuning, the Bonneville 400 could deliver mileage in the 30 kmpl range in normal riding conditions.
Expected Price and Rivals in India
The Triumph Bonneville 400 could carry an expected price of around Rs. 2.3 lakh to Rs. 2.6 lakh, ex-showroom. The final price will be announced closer to its India launch.
It will compete with the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Honda CB350 and Jawa 350 in the Indian retro motorcycle segment.
