Triumph has revealed the updated 2027 Triumph Tiger 1200 ahead of its India launch in March 2027. The new adventure motorcycle receives major updates to its engine, suspension, electronics and styling.
Triumph will introduce the India-spec motorcycle in GT Pro and Rally Explorer variants. The updated Tiger 1200 continues with a 1,160cc three-cylinder engine but now produces 158 PS, making it 8 PS more powerful than before.
It also gets Showa semi-active suspension with an automatic ride-height function, front and rear radar sensors, advanced rider assistance systems and a new 7-inch touchscreen.
2027 Triumph Tiger 1200: Design
The 2027 Triumph Tiger 1200 receives several styling revisions while retaining its familiar adventure-tourer silhouette. Triumph has redesigned the fuel tank, radiator cowls, front beak and windscreen to give the motorcycle a sharper appearance.
The new model also gets an adaptive LED projector headlamp that activates additional lighting elements when the motorcycle leans into a corner.
The rear features multifunction LED units that integrate the tail-lights and indicators. Both India-spec variants use a 19-inch front wheel and 17-inch rear wheel. The GT Pro gets cast aluminium wheels, while the Rally Explorer uses side-laced spoke wheels for improved off-road ability.
2027 Triumph Tiger 1200: Powertrain and Suspension
The 2027 Triumph Tiger 1200 retains its 1,160cc liquid-cooled T-Plane three-cylinder engine but receives several mechanical changes. The engine now produces 158 PS at 9,250 rpm and 130 Nm at 6,750 rpm.
Triumph has revised the cylinder head, pistons, valves, fuel injection and exhaust system to improve performance and refinement. The first three gear ratios have also been revised for better low-speed control. A six-speed gearbox and shaft drive continue to handle transmission duties.
The motorcycle gets Showa EERA Heightflex semi-active suspension with 200mm of travel. The system can automatically lower the seat by 30mm when the bike stops, with the seat height going as low as 790mm with the optional low seat.
2027 Triumph Tiger 1200: Cabin and Safety Features
The Tiger 1200 gets a major technology upgrade with a 7-inch Bosch HD touchscreen supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The motorcycle also features a waterproof phone compartment with USB-C charging.
Its biggest safety upgrade comes from Bosch-developed front and rear radar sensors. These enable adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, emergency brake assist, blind spot assist, rear distance warning and group ride assist.
The bike also gets a six-axis IMU, cornering ABS and traction control. Brembo Stylema calipers handle braking duties. The Rally Explorer additionally gets TPMS, extra engine protection and Off-road Pro riding mode.
Price and Rivals
Triumph has not announced the India price yet. The new Tiger 1200 will launch in March 2027 in GT Pro and Rally Explorer forms. The outgoing model starts at Rs. 19.39 lakh, so the updated motorcycle is expected to command a premium. Its rivals will include the BMW R 1300 GS and Ducati Multistrada V4.
