MG Motor India has implemented its third price hike of 2025 for the MG Comet EV, now positioning the base Executive trim at an ex‑showroom Rs 7.50 lakh.
This rise of up to Rs 15,000 across select variants makes the MG Comet EV pricier, yet it remains India’s most affordable mainstream electric car.
Despite a steady feature list, the cost adjustment extends to its Battery‑as‑a‑Service (BaaS) plan raising the per‑km rental from Rs 2.90 to Rs 3.10, impacting total ownership cost for subscription users.
Features of MG Comet EV
Even after the latest price revision, the MG Comet EV retains its feature-rich package that focuses on urban practicality, compact size, and a smart tech-oriented cabin. The electric hatchback comes equipped with a dual-screen setup, including a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
It supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with features like manual air conditioning, a 4-speaker audio system, power windows, keyless entry with push-button start, and a manual day-night inside rearview mirror.
Adding to its convenience and functionality, the Comet EV also features electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, rear parking sensors, a reverse camera, and multiple storage spaces suited for daily commutes. Safety has not been compromised either, with dual airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), all-wheel disc brakes, hill-hold assist, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and a standard electronic parking brake offered across variants.

Under the hood (or rather, under the floor), the Comet EV is powered by a 17.3 kWh lithium-ion battery, paired with a single electric motor that delivers 41 bhp and 110 Nm of torque. It offers a certified driving range of up to 230 kilometres on a full charge.
The EV supports standard 3.3 kW home charging, which takes approximately 7 hours for a full charge, while a faster AC charger can reduce the time to around 3.5–4 hours. The car is limited to a top speed of 85 km/h, which is adequate for its city-focused use case.
