Luxury car manufacturer BMW will launch 19 new cars and bikes in India this year in collaboration with BMW Motorrad. These include the new 5 Series, new X3, new Mini Countryman and R1300 GS bike.
Along with this, the company has said that it has achieved record sales of cars and motorcycles in 2023. During this period, 14,172 luxury cars were sold with a growth of 18 percent, of which 13,303 were from BMW and the remaining from Mini.
BMW’s Plan For India
Last year, the company has also got good success in the electric vehicle (EV) segment. During this period, the company has sold 1,474 luxury electric cars, registering a growth of 325 percent.
This accounts for about 10 percent of BMW Group’s total car sales in India. Furthermore, the 3-Series was the company’s best-selling model (2,702) in 2023. After this, X1 (2,633) and X7 (1,513) stood at the third position in terms of sales.
In 2023, BMW Motorrad has also managed to register a growth of 20 percent on an annual basis in terms of two-wheeler sales. The company sold 8,768 bikes last year, which is more than 7,282 sold in the entire year 2022.
Vikram Pawah, President, BMW Group India, said, “All three brands have achieved their highest ever sales in 2023 and currently have an order bank of 1,500 each for cars and two-wheelers.”
