Citroen 2 CV Concept Revealed at Paris Motor Show 2026
Citroen has unveiled the new Citroen 2 CV Concept at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, bringing back one of the most iconic names in the French brand’s history. The concept previews a small electric hatchback that Citroen plans to introduce in production form by 2028.
The new 2 CV follows the philosophy of the original model by focusing on affordability, lightweight construction, practicality and simple design. At 3.76 metres long, it will sit between the Ami and C3 in Citroen’s global lineup.
The production model is expected to target a starting price of around 15,000 euros and will be manufactured in Europe.

Citroen 2 CV Concept: Design
The Citroen 2 CV Concept combines retro styling with modern design elements. Its exterior takes inspiration from the original 2 CV, including rounded shapes, a curved roofline and circular lighting elements.
At the front, the concept gets LED headlamps surrounded by semi-circular DRL signatures and a closed-off grille with the Citroen logo. The bonnet features a distinctive ridge pattern and V-shaped design. The side profile gets rounded wheel arches, a curved roof and C-pillar-mounted indicators.
The concept rides on large steel wheels inspired by the original 2 CV. At the rear, the black tailgate extends towards the bumper and features horizontal elements and modern LED lights.
Citroen 2 CV Concept: Powertrain
Citroen has not revealed detailed powertrain specifications for the 2 CV Concept yet. However, the company has confirmed that the production version will be a fully electric hatchback. The concept measures 3.76 metres in length and targets a weight of less than 1,000kg.
Citroen aims to use a compact and cost-effective battery designed for everyday driving rather than a long-range setup. This approach should help keep the vehicle lightweight and reduce running costs.
The production-spec 2 CV will sit between the Ami and C3 in Citroen’s global range and is expected to arrive by 2028.

Citroen 2 CV Concept: Cabin
The cabin of the Citroen 2 CV Concept follows a minimalist approach and avoids the conventional dashboard layout. It features a bright white and yellow theme, bench-type seats with Tartan upholstery and fabric surfaces inspired by cane basketry.
A cylindrical structure replaces the traditional dashboard and houses the single-spoke steering wheel, control lever and an 8-inch touchscreen.
The concept also gets a digital driver display positioned below the windscreen. Instead of a conventional centre console, Citroen has fitted a removable 3D-printed storage basket. Other unique elements include a fabric sunroof and the detachable Radioën unit, which can also work as a portable speaker.
Citroen 2 CV Concept: Safety Features
Citroen has not yet revealed the complete safety equipment of the 2 CV Concept. The company has instead focused on making the production model lightweight, simple and suitable for everyday urban use.
The concept also features Michelin’s universal digital twin technology for its tyres. This system is designed to continuously monitor tyre condition and help the vehicle adapt its behaviour to road and environmental conditions.
More details about airbags, electronic safety systems, driver assistance features and other safety equipment should emerge closer to the production model’s launch. Citroen plans to introduce the production version by 2028 under future European E-Car regulations.
