Ford Recalls Over 8.5 Lakh Vehicles in the U.S. Due to Fuel Pump Issue

Ford Motors

Ford has announced a massive recall of over 850,000 cars and trucks in the United States. The reason is a faulty fuel pump that could cause the engine to suddenly stop, raising safety concerns.

The issue arises from the low-pressure fuel pump that may fail when the fuel tank is nearly empty or during extremely hot weather. When the pump doesn’t work properly, it can lead to rough engine performance, sudden power loss, or the check engine light turning on.

Eventually, the vehicle may stall while driving, which could be dangerous. Officials have already received six complaints regarding this issue.

Ford Vehicles Affected

The recall includes multiple models made between 2021 and 2023 from Ford and its luxury brand Lincoln. These models include popular vehicles like the Ford F-150, Mustang, Bronco, Explorer, Expedition, and Super Duty trucks (F-250 to F-550). Lincoln’s Aviator and Navigator are also part of the recall. Ford believes about 10% of these vehicles may actually have the defect.

What Ford Is Doing?

Ford is currently working on a solution to fix the fuel pump issue. Owners of the affected vehicles will receive a letter by July 14, informing them about the recall. A second letter will be sent once the repair plan is ready. Drivers can also reach Ford’s customer service at 1-866-436-7332 or visit the official NHTSA recall website for updates.

Why This Matters?

Even though no accidents or injuries have been reported, Ford is taking quick action to prevent any future risks. This recall highlights how important it is for carmakers to act early when it comes to safety.
