Honda Motor Company experienced a varied sales performance in India during May 2025, with its two-wheeler division maintaining strong numbers, while the passenger vehicle segment faced challenges.

Passenger Vehicle Segment of Honda Motor Company
Honda Cars India Ltd. reported total sales of 5,985 units in May 2025. This figure includes 3,950 units sold in the domestic market and 2,035 units exported. Compared to May 2024, domestic sales declined by 18.08%, down from 4,822 units.

However, there was a 17.56% month-on-month increase from April 2025, where 3,360 units were sold domestically.

Exports of Honda Motor Company
In May 2025, Honda Cars India exported 2,035 units, marking a significant year-on-year growth of 34.7% compared to 1,511 units in May 2024. This surge in exports is largely attributed to the strong international demand for the Elevate SUV, which is marketed as the WR-V in global markets.
The Elevate has become a major export success, with cumulative shipments between April and June 2024 surpassing domestic sales. In the first quarter of FY2025 (April–June 2024), Honda exported 18,009 units, a remarkable 256% increase over the same period in FY2024.
The Elevate accounted for 10,659 units, representing 14% of total utility vehicle exports from India during this period.
