Kia India is gearing up to make a significant splash in the electric vehicle segment with its upcoming compact SUV Kia Carens Clavis EV, which is expected to be based on the Carens platform.
In latest development fresh spy shots of the Clavis Electric have surfaced once again, this time revealing more production-ready elements as the model inches closer to its highly anticipated debut.

What are we expecting from Kia Carens Clavis EV?
The latest test mule of this car was spotted on Indian roads wrapped in heavy camouflage, yet some key details managed to slip through. The Clavis EV continues to undergo extensive road trials, hinting that Kia is in the advanced stages of development.
Media sources indicate a launch timeline that could fall in early 2025, possibly making it the brand’s first mass-market electric SUV tailored specifically for India.
In the latest images, the Clavis EV prototype seems to wear vertical LED headlamps, a blanked-out front grille typical of EVs, flush door handles, and a split rear LED light design. The test car also showcased a closed-off front bumper, hinting at aerodynamic improvements to enhance range.
The test mule also featured disc brakes on all four wheels, a high ground clearance, and 16-inch alloy wheels.
While the Clavis EV is expected to share underpinnings with the Carens MPV, it will feature a completely different SUV-focused design language. From what we know so far, the Clavis will adopt a boxy stance, strong body lines, and upright proportions.

Kia Carens Clavis EV: Powertrain
It is widely expected that the Kia Carens Clavis EV will use Kia’s localized e-GMP platform or a heavily modified version of the Carens’ ICE architecture to accommodate the electric powertrain.
The SUV is likely to offer a range of 350–450 km (MIDC) and could come with fast charging capabilities — making it a direct rival to Tata Punch EV, Nexon EV, and the upcoming Hyundai Exter EV.
Multiple battery options could also be on the cards, similar to how Tata offers Standard and Long Range variants in its EV lineup.
Cabin & Features (Expected)
While the interior hasn’t been revealed yet, expect the Clavis EV to be loaded with modern tech and safety features.
Kia may offer Dual-screen layout for infotainment & instrument cluster, ADAS Level 1 features, Ventilated seats, Connected car tech (OTA updates, remote charging, geo-fencing), and 360-degree camera & wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay.
Price and Availability of Kia Carens Clavis EV
The Price and Availability of the upcoming Kia Carens EV will be announced at the time of its launch. We are expecting that company is planning to launch this car at starting price of Rs 15 lakh ex-showroom.
