What are we expecting from Kia Carens Clavis EV?

The latest test mule of this car was spotted on Indian roads wrapped in heavy camouflage, yet some key details managed to slip through. The Clavis EV continues to undergo extensive road trials, hinting that Kia is in the advanced stages of development.

Media sources indicate a launch timeline that could fall in early 2025, possibly making it the brand’s first mass-market electric SUV tailored specifically for India.

In the latest images, the Clavis EV prototype seems to wear vertical LED headlamps, a blanked-out front grille typical of EVs, flush door handles, and a split rear LED light design. The test car also showcased a closed-off front bumper, hinting at aerodynamic improvements to enhance range.

The test mule also featured disc brakes on all four wheels, a high ground clearance, and 16-inch alloy wheels.

While the Clavis EV is expected to share underpinnings with the Carens MPV, it will feature a completely different SUV-focused design language. From what we know so far, the Clavis will adopt a boxy stance, strong body lines, and upright proportions.
