Kia India Registers 3.9% YoY Growth in May 2025; Domestic Sales at 19,500 Units

Kia India continues its upward trajectory in the Indian automotive market, reporting a 3.9% year-on-year growth in total domestic sales for the month of May 2025.

The South Korean carmaker sold 19,500 units in the domestic market during the month, compared to 18,766 units in May 2024, reaffirming its position as a strong performer in the mid-size SUV and MPV segments.

Domestic Sales Performance of Kia Motors

In May 2025, Kia’s product portfolio saw solid performance across the board. The Kia Sonet led the charge as the brand’s top-selling model, clocking 7,433 units, followed by the Kia Seltos with 6,736 units, and the Kia Carens with 5,316 units sold. The compact SUV segment continues to be the brand’s stronghold, with both the Sonet and Seltos consistently contributing to volume sales.

These numbers reflect growing consumer trust in Kia’s products, backed by consistent updates, competitive pricing, and strong after-sales support.

Export Sales of Kia India

On the exports front, Kia India shipped 2,304 units in May 2025. With this, the company achieved a significant milestone — crossing 2.5 lakh units in cumulative exports since it began operations in India. These exports cover more than 100 global markets, showcasing the global appeal of Kia’s India-manufactured models.

Among the exported models The Kia Seltos accounted for approximately 60% of the shipments and Sonet contributed 34% and Carens made up 7% of the export volume.

This export performance not only highlights the world-class quality of Kia’s Indian manufacturing hub but also supports India’s position as a key export base for global carmakers.
