Mahindra Vision SXT Teased Ahead of Global Debut, Rear Design Revealed

Mahindra is set to unveil its all-new Mahindra Vision SXT EV in the Indian market

Indian automobile giant Mahindra is set to unveil its all-new Mahindra Vision SXT EV in the Indian market, with an official unveiling scheduled for August 10, 2025.

In anticipation of its global debut, the company has teased the car by revealing its rear design. This model will be part of the Mahindra Thar brand and will feature a rugged design, similar to the upcoming Vision T.

Expected Features of Mahindra Vision SXT

Mahindra Vision SXT will be based on company’s new freedom NU platform, which is capable of utilizing petrol, diesel, hybrid and all-electric powertrains.

The latest teaser hint that the SXT EV will have pickup truck-like load area with spare tyres placed on it. This will be the updated design of the Global Pickup Concept showcased in 2023.

It will be equipped with full tail gate panel for opening the trunk. It also gets the slim tail lamp units, flared wheel arches and a chunky rear and front bumper.

We are also expecting that this SUV will borrow some design elements from the Vision T concept like flat bonnet design, latches at the side and flared wheel arches. It will also have all-terrain tyres.

Powertrain and Cabin

The upcoming Mahindra Vision SXT is expected to support a wide range of powertrains including petrol, diesel, hybrid, and fully electric setups.

While Mahindra hasn’t officially revealed full technical details, the production version could use the trusted Scorpio-N platform, featuring a next-gen turbo-petrol or mHawk diesel engine.

Transmission options might include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox sourced from Aisin.

The SUV is also likely to offer 4WD capability with selectable drive modes such as Sand, Snow, Mud/Rut, and Normal, reinforcing its off-road focus.

On the inside, the Vision SXT is expected to strike a balance between durability and modern features.

Leaked visuals and teasers suggest a practical yet high-tech cabin layout, potentially offering a large touchscreen infotainment system, a semi- or fully-digital instrument cluster, tactile HVAC controls, and versatile storage options for gear and travel essentials.

The materials used could be rugged but stylish, echoing the SUV’s tough and adventure-ready design language.

Mahindra may also pack the cabin with connected car features, OTA support, and ADAS technologies, especially for the electric variants. All in all, the Vision SXT looks ready to deliver performance with purpose on and off the road.

The Mahindra Vision SXT is expected to be priced between Rs 18–25 lakh (ex-showroom), depending on the variant and powertrain.

Mahindra Vision T is also in Pipeline

Apart from the Vision SXT, Mahindra is also working on Vision.T concept, widely believed to be the next evolution of the Thar.e electric SUV. It appears to be a more refined and production-ready version of the Thar.e concept.

The Expected features of the car is Squircle-shaped LED DRLs, Vertical slat grille inspired by the Thar, Large off-road wheels and flared arches, and Five-door layout for added practicality.

It could offer Dual-motor AWD setup, Range of 400–500 km (expected), Fast-charging support, and Regenerative braking and terrain modes.

The expected price of this EV is yet to announced we are expecting that company will launch this SUV at the starting price of Rs 20 to 25 lakh ex-showroom.
