In a strategic move to bolster customer confidence amidst impending import duty revisions, MINI India has introduced a limited-time Price Protection Assurance Programme for its iconic 3-Door Cooper S model.
This initiative ensures that customers purchasing the vehicle now will be eligible for a refund of the price difference if any reduction occurs within 180 days from the date of purchase.

Features of MINI 3-Door Cooper S
The MINI 3-Door Cooper S, currently priced at ₹44.90 lakh (ex-showroom), is imported as a Completely Built-Up (CBU) unit from the MINI Plant in Oxford, UK. Given its imported status, the vehicle is directly impacted by changes in customs duties.
The recent India-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA), which proposes a significant reduction in import tariffs from over 100% to just 10% for high-end cars, has led to speculation about potential price drops for UK-made vehicles.

What we know about the decision of MINI India?
Addressing these concerns, Vikram Pawah, President and CEO of BMW Group India, stated, “MINI has always stood for innovation and a bold character. With the price protection assurance programme for MINI 3-Door Cooper S, MINI is staying a step ahead and ensuring that customers are able to receive the full benefit of any major price reductions resulting from anticipated duty cuts. They can buy their favourite MINI today and do not have to wait longer to make the purchase decision”.
Under this programme, if the ex-showroom price of the MINI 3-Door Cooper S is reduced within 180 days of purchase, customers will receive a refund of the difference between the original invoiced price and the new ex-showroom price. This offer is available for a limited period and can be availed at any authorised MINI dealership across India.
It’s important to note that this price protection assurance applies exclusively to the 3-Door Cooper S and does not extend to other MINI models, including the recently launched all-electric MINI Countryman, which is also a CBU, produced at BMW Group’s Plant Leipzig in Germany.
This proactive measure by MINI India aims to alleviate customer apprehensions regarding potential price fluctuations due to policy changes and reinforces the brand’s commitment to customer-centric initiatives.
