What Sets Tesla Apart?

Tesla’s Robotaxis rely solely on camera-based Full Self-Driving (FSD) software, setting them apart from competitors like Waymo that use lidar and radar for autonomous navigation. This approach leans on scalability and cost-efficiency, leveraging Tesla’s extensive recent fleet production.

During the initial phase, Tesla maintained safety by having a company-trained “safety monitor” seated in the front passenger seat still present as Texas regulations mandate until full autonomy is approved.
