Kia Motors is currently working on its popular midsize SUV, new generation Kia Seltos. The vehicle has recently been spotted testing on Indian roads, indicating a significant upgrade is on the way.
The company is expected to launch this new Seltos in November 2025. The upcoming model will likely feature a redesigned exterior, a more premium cabin, and updated powertrain options, including a potential hybrid variant.
The Seltos will compete with rivals such as the Hyundai Creta and the Maruti Grand Vitara, as Kia aims to position the Seltos in a more premium category both in terms of features and pricing.
New Generation Kia Seltos: Bold and EV-Inspired
The new Kia Seltos adopts Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ design language, which has been seen in models like the EV9 and the Syros. Spy shots reveal a boxier front fascia, vertical LED daytime running lights (DRLs), and a concave grille that give it a more aggressive appearance.
At the rear, the SUV showcases connected tail lamps, chunkier bumpers, and redesigned 18-inch alloy wheels. Overall, the new Seltos appears to be longer and taller, likely to differentiate it from the upcoming Kia Syros.
New Generation Kia Seltos: ICE and Hybrid Options
The upcoming Kia Seltos is expected to retain its current engine lineup, which will likely include three engine options: a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 115 hp, a 1.5L turbo-petrol engine generating 160 hp, and a 1.5L diesel engine providing 116 hp.
Transmission choices are expected to include a manual option, an Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT), and an automatic.
Additionally, a hybrid powertrain based on the 1.5L petrol engine may be introduced post-launch, offering improved fuel efficiency and lower emissions.

Upcoming Kia Seltos: Cabin and Features
The interior of the new Kia Seltos is anticipated to receive a redesign, featuring a new dashboard layout, upgraded upholstery, and ambient lighting.
Key features will likely include dual 10.25-inch displays (one for infotainment and one for the digital cluster), a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), a 360-degree camera, and an electronic parking brake.
Enhanced connectivity options will include Kia Connect, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and voice-controlled functions.
New Generation Kia Seltos: Expected Price and Launch Timeline
The new-generation Seltos is expected to be priced between ₹12 lakh and ₹21 lakh (ex-showroom). Its launch is likely scheduled for November 2025, with hybrid variants possibly arriving in early 2026.
With its bold new design, advanced technology, and potential hybrid power, the upcoming Kia Seltos aims to redefine its position in India’s competitive SUV market.
