Japanese car company Lexus is planning to introduce its new electric car, the Lexus ES, at the 2025 Shanghai Motor Show on April 23, 2025. The company has officially revealed some teaser images of this upcoming sedan car. Reports suggest that this car will be available in both electric and hybrid version.
This new model will be a facelift version of the Lexus ES that was launched in 2018. In this article, we provide all the information and expected features of the upcoming Lexus ES.

Design of the Upcoming Lexus ES
Reports indicate that the new Lexus ES will feature an updated design that is more attractive than the current generation model. Key design elements will include boomerang-shaped daytime running lights (DRLs), new alloy wheel designs, connected taillights with sleek LED lamps, roof rails, a rear spoiler, and flush door handles. Additionally, it will come with electrically adjustable outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs) and blacked-out A, B, and C pillars.
In terms of dimensions, this electric car will measure 195.9 inches (4974 mm) in length, 73.4 inches (1865 mm) in width, and 56.9 inches (1445 mm) in height. The wheelbase will be 113.0 inches (2870 mm), with a front track width of 62.5–62.9 inches and a rear track width of 63.0–63.4 inches. The ground clearance will be 5.9 inches, and the curb weight will be approximately 3,690–3,793 lbs, depending on the trim.
Cabin of the Lexus ES
The interior of the upcoming ES will showcase high-quality materials, including semi-aniline leather upholstery and wood trims like Shimamoku and Bamboo, reflecting Lexus’s Takumi craftsmanship. The dashboard will feature a driver-centric layout, ensuring that controls are easily accessible.
The front seats will be 14-way power-adjustable with heating, ventilation, and memory functions, while the rear seats will provide ample legroom and can recline for enhanced passenger comfort. The cabin is designed for quietness, offering a well-insulated ride. A 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system will support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and USB Type-C charging ports will be available for electronic devices.
The car will also include a three-zone automatic climate control system, allowing separate temperature settings for the driver, front passenger, and rear passengers. Additional features will consist of a powered sunroof, ambient lighting, and a hands-free boot lid.

Lexus ES: Powertrain
The upcoming Lexus ES will be available in both electric and hybrid versions. The electric variant will be equipped with a 77 kWh battery pack and a front-drive motor, generating a maximum power output of 224 hp and offering an approximate range of 574 km.
There will also be an option for an all-wheel-drive electric motor paired with the same 77 kWh battery pack, which will deliver a maximum power of 381 hp and a range of about 500 km.
For the hybrid version, a 2.5-liter petrol engine will generate a maximum power of 243 hp. This engine will be mated to a choice of either a manual or automatic transmission.
Lexus ES: Price and Availability
The pricing and availability of the upcoming Lexus ES will be announced during its launch. It is anticipated that the electric model will start at approximately Rs 70-75 lakh, while the hybrid version will also start at around Rs 65-70 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom).
Lexus plans to launch this car in China first, with availability to follow in other markets, including India. The company may announce the pricing of this car in the coming months.
