Next-Gen Bajaj Pulsar 150 Spied at Dealership Ahead of Launch
Bajaj Auto prepares to expand its popular motorcycle lineup with the imminent launch of the next-generation Pulsar 150. Production-ready units recently reached local dealerships, giving enthusiasts an undisguised preview of the upcoming commuter bike.
The new iteration discards the decades-old chassis architecture in favor of a modern single-downtube frame and a rear monoshock setup. In addition, Bajaj introduces an oil-cooled motor to enhance thermal management and overall performance.
These extensive mechanical and visual updates signal the biggest generational shift for the iconic Pulsar 150 brand in years.
Modern Platform Upgrades Handling and Stability
The upcoming Pulsar 150 discards the old double-cradle frame that supported the Classic Pulsar series for decades. Bajaj constructs the new motorcycle around an updated single-downtube chassis, sharing its core structural foundation with the recently leaked Pulsar 125.
Suspension duties shift to a conventional telescopic fork up front and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock. This monoshock setup replaces the twin gas-charged shock absorbers of the outgoing model. The revised chassis architecture promises sharper handling dynamics, improved high-speed stability, and better cornering precision during daily city commutes.
Oil-Cooled Engine Improves Thermal Management
Bajaj engineers overhauled the 150cc powertrain to deliver better efficiency and heat dissipation. While the outgoing model relies on a basic air-cooled setup, the new engine adds an integrated oil cooler.
This improved thermal management system allows the motor to maintain optimum operating temperatures during prolonged high-speed rides and heavy city traffic. Although Bajaj has not released official output figures yet, the upgraded motor will likely surpass the outgoing 149.5cc single-cylinder engine’s 14 hp and 13.3 Nm of torque.
Fresh Styling Cues and Updated Digital Features
The new Pulsar 150 inherits sharp aesthetic elements from the broader Pulsar family. Up front, a redesigned headlight cowl housing a sharp LED headlamp creates an aggressive fascia. Muscular fuel tank shrouds add visual weight, leading toward a slimmer tail section with signature twin-strip LED taillights.
Riders interact with a fully digital color LCD instrument panel. The unit displays critical telemetry like speed, gear position, fuel levels, and trip data while supporting Bluetooth smartphone connectivity.
Imminent Launch Timeline
Bajaj has scheduled a major product launch event for August 12. While the automaker officially confirmed the arrival of the updated Pulsar N160 for that date, dealership arrivals indicate that the all-new Pulsar 150 will debut alongside its smaller Pulsar 125 sibling very soon. It will be launched at expected price of Rs 1.2 lakh ex-showroom.
