Tata Motors is preparing to make 2026 a major year for its electric vehicle plans in India, with three new EVs set to launch across different segments. The upcoming electric lineup will include the much-awaited Sierra EV, the next-generation Tiago EV, and the futuristic Avinya.
With these three models, Tata aims to strengthen its position in the fast-growing EV market. The new launches will cover the mass-market hatchback space, the lifestyle SUV segment, and the premium electric category, giving Indian buyers more zero-emission options.
This move also highlights the company’s focus on expanding clean and sustainable mobility solutions in the country.
Tata Sierra EV
Tata Motors prepares to roll out the highly anticipated Tata Sierra EV in the April–June 2026 window, reviving one of its most iconic nameplates in a zero-emission form after decades.
EV carries forward the boxy and upright silhouette that made the original Sierra a cult classic, while integrating modern electric SUV styling elements like a sealed front fascia, full-width LED daytime running lights, and flush door handles for a futuristic touch. Built on Tata’s dedicated Acti.ev+ electric skateboard platform, the SUV promises optimized packaging efficiency and a spacious cabin layout.
Lower trims could feature a standard pack that balances daily usability with range, while higher variants may adopt a larger battery capable of delivering real-world driving ranges around or above 450 km on a full charge.
Higher trims should bring Level-2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera system, connected car tech, and comfort features like powered front seats and dual-zone climate control, making it a tech flagship in its class.
The price and availability of Sierra EV will be announced at the time of its launch, reports suggest that the upcoming Sierra EV will be launch at the starting price of Rs 18-20 lakh ex-showroom.
Tata Avinya
Tata Motors is poised to make a significant impact on India’s electric vehicle ( EV) market with the anticipated launch of the Tata Avinya in 2027. The Tata Avinya showcases a futuristic design language, marked by its sleek silhouette and innovative features. The front fascia is dominated by a distinctive LED light bar that forms a ‘T’ shape, symbolizing Tata’s brand identity.
Tata Motors has confirmed that the Avinya will offer a minimum range of 500 kilometers on a single charge. The vehicle will support ultra-fast charging capabilities, allowing it to recharge in under 30 minutes.
Tata Avinya is projected to be priced between Rs 25 lakh and Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it competitively within the premium EV segment.
Tata Tiago EV Facelift
Tata Motors is also planning to launch its Tata Tiago Facelift in the Indian Market in 2026. The 2026 version of the Tata Tiago EV is likely to get minor exterior tweaks along with several feature enhancements to stay fresh in the market. It is expected to be offered with multiple battery options, delivering a usable driving range for daily city use, along with support for both fast charging and regular home charging.
The cabin could see upgrades such as a bigger touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity, a digital driver display, connected car technology, and better interior fit and finish. On the safety front, features like multiple airbags, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring, hill-hold assist, and a rear camera are expected to be offered as standard.
Price-wise, the updated Tiago EV is likely to remain affordable, with expected ex-showroom prices ranging roughly between Rs 8 lakh and Rs 11.5 lakh, making it one of the most budget-friendly electric cars in India.
