Tata Motors is developing an all-new version of the Tata Sierra specifically for the Indian market. The company plans to launch this SUV on November 25th.
In its lineup, the Sierra will be positioned between the Curvv and the Harrier. The Sierra nameplate was first introduced in 1991 and was in production for a little over a decade before being discontinued.
The new Sierra will be available in both electric (EV) and internal combustion engine (ICE) variants, making it one of the most versatile and future-ready SUVs in its class.
Now, let’s explore the features that will be available in this upcoming SUV.

What are we expecting from Tata Sierra?
Tata Sierra retains the signature wide glasshouse and boxy silhouette of the original model, but it now includes modern features such as full-width LED daytime running lights (DRLs) and tail lamps, flush door handles, a panoramic glass roof, and bold “Sierra” branding on the C-pillar.
This upcoming SUV will be built on Tata’s Gen 2 Acti.EV platform, which promises a robust, crash-tested structure along with enhanced space and modularity.

Tata Sierra: Powertrain and Cabin
Tata is aiming to reach a broad audience by offering the Sierra in both electric and petrol variants. The Sierra EV will provide a range of 500–550 km (MIDC) and will feature a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup.
It will also support fast charging, regenerative braking, and various drive modes.
On the other hand, the Sierra ICE is expected to offer 1.5L turbo petrol and 2.0L diesel engine options. This engine will be paired with either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission and will come equipped with drive modes and a terrain response system.
The Sierra is anticipated to feature a triple-screen dashboard layout, inspired by Tata’s latest electric vehicles. Key features may include a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster along with a co-passenger display, and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) including lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and blind spot detection.
Additional features are likely to include ventilated seats, wireless charging, dual-zone climate control, and connected car technology with over-the-air (OTA) updates.
The cabin is expected to showcase soft-touch materials, ambient lighting, and premium upholstery, positioning the Sierra as a luxury lifestyle SUV.
