Vietnamese electric vehicle maker VinFast is charging into the Indian market, and the latest sign of its arrival is the VinFast VF 7 electric SUV, recently spotted testing on Mumbai roads.
The sighting comes just months ahead of its expected festive season launch, and marks a significant step in VinFast’s global expansion strategy.
The test mule, finished in Jet Black, was seen wearing 19-inch gloss black alloy wheels wrapped in 245/50 R19 Apollo Aspire tyres a departure from the 20-inch Goodyear Eagle F1s seen on the VF 7 at the Bharat Mobility Expo.

The change suggests a ride-quality-focused India-spec setup, a common move among global automakers entering the Indian market.

Expected Features Of VinFast VF 7
As per the reports the upcoming VinFast VF7 will be equipped with Split LED headlamps and wraparound LED tail-lamps. It will also feature Full-width LED light bar, Shark-fin antenna and roof spoiler, Camera-based ADAS suite and 360-degree camera setup.
The VF 7 will be offered in two variants globally—Eco and Plus—both powered by a 75.3kWh battery pack. The Eco version of the car will be equipped with single electric motor and front wheel drive system.
This setup will produce maximum power of 204hp and a peak torque of 310Nm. As per the report this Eco variant of this car will offer range of 450Km.
The Plus variant of this car will produce maximum power of 354hp and a peak torque of 500Nm. This version will offer range of 431 km. It will be available in All-Wheel-Drive option.

Expected Price of VinFast VF 7
VinFast is assembling the VF 7 at its new facility in Tamil Nadu, which should help keep prices competitive. While official pricing is yet to be announced, industry insiders expect it to fall in the ₹25–30 lakh range. The company is also evaluating a battery leasing model, similar to MG’s Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS), to lower upfront costs.
The VF 7 is expected to go on sale around October 2025, just in time for Diwali. Bookings are likely to open in the coming weeks, alongside the smaller VF 6 SUV, which has also been spotted testing in India.
