KTM Motorcycle has officially unveiled its all-new 2026 KTM 690 SMC R, enhancing its iconic supermoto for modern riders with reengineered power, aggressive styling, and a tech-packed rider interface.
The company plans to launch this bike in September 2025. With its muscular power, razor-sharp chassis tuning, and advanced electronics, the 2026 KTM 690 SMC R stands out as a supermoto that is both street-legal and track-ready.
It offers riders the most potent single-cylinder performance to date, with components designed to thrill.
2026 KTM 690 SMC R: Design
The 2026 SMC R features a more aggressive and racy design, characterized by sharper body lines, durable in-mold graphics, and KTM’s signature orange aesthetics.
Rider ergonomics have also been improved, with refined contact points, slimmer footpegs, and an ultra-grippy 890 mm seat that enhances control and confidence during high lean angles.
Additionally, it includes a new 4.2-inch full-color TFT display (similar to the 390 Enduro R) that provides smartphone connectivity, USB-C support, music and call control, and turn-by-turn navigation.
Powertrain
The KTM SMC R is powered by a max 693 cc LC4 single-cylinder engine, which has undergone significant reworking 50% of its internals are new, including the crankcase, clutch, stator cover, oil system, fuel pump, valve timing, and a simpler intake/exhaust setup.
This engine produces a maximum power of 79 hp and peak torque of 73 Nm. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox, offering sharper throttle response via a 65-degree twist grip, improved vibration isolation, and extended maintenance intervals.

Suspension and Braking
Built on KTM’s lightweight steel trellis frame, the bike features enhanced stiffness for sharper handling.
The WP suspension (both fork and shock) is finely tuned for precision street riding. High-performance brakes with updated ABS modes are designed to match aggressive riding styles.
It also includes lean-sensitive Cornering ABS, Cornering MTC, Launch Control, a 5-stage anti-wheelie system, a slip adjuster, and Supermoto+ ABS for controlled rear-wheel slides.
Price and Availability
The 2026 KTM 690 SMC R will be available globally starting in September 2025, with the launch and pricing for India yet to be confirmed.
It is expected that the company may price this model between Rs 14–16 lakh (ex-showroom).
This bike will compete with the Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono, Husqvarna 701 Supermoto, and GasGas SM 700.
