2026 Maruti Suzuki Brezza Earns 5-Star Bharat NCAP Safety Rating
Ahead of its official launch, the 2026 Maruti Suzuki Brezza has achieved a five-star safety rating in the latest Bharat NCAP crash tests, strengthening its position in the compact SUV segment.
The tested model was the ZXI+ variant equipped with the 1.5-litre petrol engine and six-speed automatic gearbox.
The safety rating also applies to other eligible variants powered by the 1.5-litre manual, 1.5-litre automatic, and the newly introduced 1.0-litre turbo-petrol manual powertrains, making the Brezza one of the safest SUVs in its class.
2026 Maruti Suzuki Brezza Delivers Strong Crash Test Performance
The 2026 Maruti Suzuki Brezza scored an impressive 30.41 out of 32 in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP). It received 14.41 out of 16 in the frontal offset deformable barrier test and a perfect 16 out of 16 in the side movable deformable barrier test. The SUV also successfully passed the side pole impact test.
In Child Occupant Protection (COP), the Brezza earned 43 out of 49 points. It scored a perfect 24 out of 24 in the Child Restraint System (CRS) dynamic test and 12 out of 12 for CRS installation. It also secured 7 out of 13 in the vehicle assessment category.
Compared with other compact SUVs, the Brezza delivered a highly competitive performance. Its Adult Occupant Protection score places it just behind the Kia Seltos and Tata Nexon, while outperforming several other rivals in the segment.
Expected Features and Pricing
Maruti Suzuki has equipped the Brezza with a comprehensive list of standard safety features across all variants. These include Electronic Stability Control (ESC), side and curtain airbags, pedestrian protection, and seat belt reminders for all occupants. The SUV also gets ISOFIX child seat anchorages on the rear outboard seats, improving child safety.
The updated Brezza is expected to continue offering a feature-rich cabin with a touchscreen infotainment system, connected car technology, automatic climate control, wireless smartphone connectivity, and a sunroof on higher variants.
While Maruti Suzuki has not officially announced the prices, the 2026 Brezza is expected to carry a slight premium over the outgoing model. With its newly earned 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, strong safety package and multiple engine options, the SUV is expected to remain one of the most popular choices in India’s compact SUV market.
