KTM motorcycle is gearing up to update its portfolio in India and planning to launch it’s new Adventure 490 bike. In recent development this model has been spotted during testing on the Indian roads. Company has already reveled its plan of launching a bike which might be between 500-700cc category.
As per the media reports KTM will introduced this bike in upcoming months. It will come equipped with LED lighting setup and more powerful engine that might be 490cc.
So, lets know what are the features available in this bike.
What are we expecting from the upcoming KTM Adventure 490?
As per the spy shots, bikes seem to be in the early to mid-prototype stage of development. However, the bodywork is still incomplete, with makeshift panels visible. It will come equipped with LED lighting setup, LED taillamps and adventure cruiser design.
Bike is likely to get a fully-digital TFT display, offering Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, ride modes, and smartphone integration, ensuring riders have all essential information and connectivity at their fingertips.
The upcoming KTM Adventure 490 is expected to feature an all-new 490cc parallel-twin engine, developed in collaboration with Bajaj. While exact figures are yet to be revealed, it is anticipated to produce around 45–50 bhp, paired with a 6-speed gearbox and slipper clutch for smoother performance.
With this engine setup, KTM aims to position the Adventure 490 as a versatile mid-capacity ADV, bridging the gap between the 390 Adventure and larger 790/890 models.
The KTM Adventure 490 is expected to come equipped with a high-performance braking and suspension setup to suit its adventure-touring character. It will likely feature disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS, possibly offering off-road ABS modes for better control on tricky terrains.
Suspension duties are expected to be handled by long-travel USD front forks and a monoshock at the rear, tuned for both on-road stability and off-road capability.

Price and Availability of Adventure 490
The price and availability of the upcoming KTM Adventure 490 will be announce at time of its launch. We are expecting that company may launch this bike at starting price of Rs 4 lakh ex-showroom.
In Indian market this bike will compete with BMW G 310 GS, Kawasaki Versys-X 300, Royal Enfield Himalayan, and Suzuki V-Strom 250.
