Toyota Fortuner Price Hiked Again in India, Now Starts at Rs 34.76 Lakh

The Toyota SUV India landscape is witnessing a significant shift as the legendary Toyota Fortuner price in India has been revised upward, making this dominant off-roader notably more expensive for enthusiasts.

Effective May 2026, Toyota Kirloskar Motor has implemented a fresh price hike, pushing costs up across its extensive lineup.

This adjustment is primarily attributed to rising input costs and persistent inflationary pressures affecting the global automotive sector, forcing the brand to pass a portion of these expenses onto the consumer.

Toyota Fortuner: Performance, Features, and Market Competition

Under the hood, the Fortuner retains its proven mechanical muscle, offering a 2.7L petrol engine and a heavy-duty 2.8L diesel engine capable of up to 204 hp and 500 Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between manual and automatic transmissions, with diesel variants offering both 4×2 and 4×4 capabilities.

While it continues to offer a premium interior with 7 SRS airbags and an 11-speaker JBL sound system, the model faces stiffening competition from rivals like the MG Gloster and Jeep Meridian.

As the price gap widens, many buyers may now find themselves weighing the SUV’s legendary resale value against its increasingly premium entry cost.
