Mahindra Sales Report July 2026: SUV Dominance Crosses 60K Mark as Overall Sales Surge 26%

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has kicked off the second quarter of the financial year 2026-27 on a highly bullish note. The Indian automotive giant reported yet another blockbuster month across its diverse portfolio, highlighted by domestic SUV sales comfortably breaching the crucial 60,000-unit milestone once again.

Registering a massive 26% year-on-year (YoY) growth in cumulative automotive volumes, the company’s performance reflects deep-rooted demand traction in both urban and rural ecosystems. Crucially, the growth engine was not just anchored by its flagship utility vehicles; instead, Mahindra clocked healthy double-digit gains across commercial vehicles, three-wheelers, tractors, and its heavy trucks and buses business.

Mahindra SUV Sales July 2026: The Core Growth Engine

Mahindra’s utility vehicle business remains the absolute powerhouse of its automotive operations. Domestic SUV sales for July 2026 soared to 60,048 units, marking a solid 20% YoY growth compared to the 49,871 units sold during the same month last year.

While the year-on-year trajectory remains aggressive, monthly volumes showed signs of stabilization. Compared to June 2026, where Mahindra dispatched 60,393 SUVs, July volumes witnessed a minor, flat contraction of just 345 units (down 0.57%). When factoring in international shipments, Mahindra’s total utility vehicle sales stood at a strong 60,887 units for the month.

Looking at the broader horizon, the company’s passenger vehicle division has maintained an enviable momentum through the first four months of FY27. Between April and July, cumulative passenger vehicle sales reached 2,34,793 units, yielding a 16% growth over the 2,01,938 units recorded during the corresponding period last fiscal.

“In July, we achieved SUV sales of 60,048 units delivering a growth of 20%. The total vehicle sales stood at 1,03,860, a 26% YoY growth reflecting all-round demand traction across the portfolio,” stated Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO, Automotive Division, M&M Ltd.

Commercial Vehicles, 3-Wheelers, and Exports Catch Fire

The positive momentum extended seamlessly into the commercial and alternative fuel segments. Domestic sales of Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) weighing under 2 tonnes jumped by an impressive 40% to 3,870 units. Concurrently, the popular 2-3.5 tonne LCV segment recorded a healthy 21% scale-up, accounting for 21,334 units.

The real standout performer, however, was Mahindra’s three-wheeler business—heavily bolstered by the rapid adoption of electric three-wheelers. The segment registered a massive 53% YoY growth, hitting 14,538 units in July alone. Cumulatively for FY27, three-wheeler volumes have skyrocketed by 69% to hit 50,793 units.

On the international front, Mahindra’s global expansion strategies are paying off handsomely:

  • July 2026 Exports: 4,070 vehicles shipped, marking a 47% YoY surge against 2,774 units last year.

  • FY27 Cumulative Exports: Reached 19,958 units, tracking a phenomenal 60% upward trajectory.

Mahindra Tractor Sales July 2026: Rural Markets Bounce Back

Signs of a robust rural economic recovery were visible in the performance of Mahindra’s Farm Equipment Business. Domestic tractor sales climbed to 32,643 units in July 2026, registering a 21% growth over the 26,990 units sold in July 2025. Total tractor sales, including exports of 1,777 units, aggregated to 34,420 units.

+-------------------------+-----------------------------------------+
| Domestic Sales | 32,643 units (â–² 21% YoY) |
| Export Sales | 1,777 units |
| Total FY27 (Apr-July) | 1,92,461 units (â–² 18% YoY) |
+-------------------------+-----------------------------------------+

For the cumulative April-July stretch, domestic tractor volumes stood at 1,85,069 units, up 19%, while total global farm equipment dispatches aggregated to 1,92,461 units.

According to Veejay Nakra, President of the Farm Equipment Business, this widespread rural resurgence is fueled by highly favorable macroeconomic conditions. Well-distributed monsoon rainfall, healthy water reservoir levels, accelerated kharif sowing backed by targeted government programs, and robust farm cash flows have combined to uplift farmer sentiment across core agricultural belts.

Trucks and Buses Division Maintains Double-Digit Gains

The commercial heavy mobility sector continued its steady upward march. The combined entities of Mahindra Trucks & Buses Division (MTBD) and SML Mahindra posted total sales of 3,009 vehicles, recording a solid 19% YoY growth. Breaking down the applications, cargo vehicle sales moved up 15% (1,474 units) while passenger transport variants expanded 23% (1,535 units).

Looking exclusively at MTBD, the division sold 1,406 units, reflecting a spectacular 27% growth spread evenly across both its freight and passenger carrier models. SML Mahindra contributed a steady 1,603 units to the tally, growing at 12%.

Vinod Sahay, Executive Chairman of SML and President of Aerospace, Advanced Technologies, Trucks, Buses & CE at M&M, noted that despite structural input cost headwinds, the heavy commercial vehicle industry is continually benefiting from sustained government infrastructure investments, rising freight utilization rates, and a rapidly accelerating corporate fleet replacement cycle.

Strong Footing Ahead of the Festive Season

Mahindra’s comprehensive July sales performance indicates a fundamentally healthy business sheet across every core operational vertical. With its SUV division consistently anchoring core volumes above 60,000 units and commercial segments firing on all cylinders, the automaker enters the high-stakes Indian festive season from a position of immense strength.

With rumors circulating regarding the imminent market debut of an updated Scorpio N variant later this month, coupled with the seasonal surge in consumer spending just around the corner, Mahindra is perfectly poised to accelerate its market share dominance in the upcoming quarters.
