Bentley has released a teaser showcasing the interior of the upcoming Torcal EV ahead of its official global debut on September 23. The Torcal marks the historic British brand’s first step into the all-electric vehicle market.
Bentley originally scheduled the debut for 2025, but the automaker revised its electrification timeline following shifting global demand for high-end luxury EVs.
Pre-production of the electric SUV began back in November 2025 at the company’s main manufacturing facility in Crewe, England. The latest preview confirms that Bentley prioritizes tactile human controls alongside modern luxury software.
Tactile Physical Buttons Anchor the Cabin
While modern electric vehicles rely heavily on giant digital touchscreens, Bentley keeps physical controls at the center of the driving experience.
The interior teaser highlights physical switches on both the steering wheel and the center console. Textured silver buttons control dual-zone climate settings, blower speeds, and audio volume, giving passengers high-end tactile feedback.
A curved climate control panel sits on the central console, mirroring the screen integration found on the Porsche Cayenne Electric. An illuminated rotary dial surrounds the engine start-stop button on the center console, operating Bentley’s new “Curation Engine” system. Drivers use this physical dial to cycle through four distinct driving modes: Bentley, Comfort, Sport, and Refresh.
The drive modes alter more than just mechanical settings and throttle response. Each drive setting dynamically transforms the sensory environment inside the passenger cabin.
The Curation Engine actively adjusts ambient interior lighting, synthetic cabin soundscapes, and climate control air quality. This multi-sensory approach adapts the vehicle’s personality to match driver preference and mood during long-distance journeys.

PPE Platform Delivers Massive Power and Fast Charging
Bentley constructs the Torcal EV on Volkswagen Group’s Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture, sharing core engineering components with the Porsche Cayenne Electric. A massive 113 kWh battery pack powers the SUV, supporting ultra-fast 390 kW DC fast-charging capabilities.
Bentley Design Director Robin Page highlighted that luxury customers demand a practical driving range between 483 km and 563 km (300 to 350 miles). The Torcal will feature a dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain as standard equipment. While Bentley has not confirmed final output figures, the EV could match the Porsche Cayenne Electric Turbo’s staggering performance metrics of 1,156 hp and 1,500 Nm of torque.
