Tata Motors Cars, EVs to Get Costlier From September 1, Up to Rs 25,000 Hike

Tata Motors is set to increase prices of its passenger vehicles in India from September 1, 2026. The upcoming price hike will apply to both internal-combustion engine (ICE) models and electric vehicles (EVs), with the increase going up to Rs 25,000, depending on the model and variant.

Tata Motors Price Hike From September

The revised prices will come into effect from September 1. However, the Rs 25,000 figure represents the maximum increase, and not every Tata car or EV will receive the same price hike. The exact increase will vary across models and variants.

Tata Motors has not yet announced the model-wise price revisions. The hike is expected to cover the company’s passenger vehicle range, including petrol, diesel and electric models.

Why Are Tata Cars Becoming Expensive?

Tata Motors has cited rising input costs and inflationary pressures as the key reasons behind the latest price revision. The company continues to absorb a portion of the increased costs but will pass some of the impact on to customers through higher vehicle prices.

Third Tata Price Hike in 2026

The September revision will be the third Tata Motors passenger vehicle price hike of 2026. The automaker had earlier increased prices across its ICE portfolio in April, followed by another price increase covering ICE and EV models from July 1.

With the latest hike, buyers planning to purchase a Tata car or EV should factor in the revised prices before finalising their purchase.
