Hyundai Sub-4m EV Spotted at Charging Station: What We Know So Far

Hyundai’s upcoming sub-4-metre electric SUV has been spotted again in India, this time at a charging station. The new EV will sit below the Creta Electric and will target the growing compact electric SUV segment.

Hyundai has already confirmed the model for India as part of its future product plans. The latest sighting gives a closer look at its charging setup and headlight design.

However, Hyundai has not revealed the production name, battery capacity or launch price yet.

Hyundai Sub-4m EV Design

The latest test vehicle remains heavily camouflaged, but some design details have started to emerge. The prototype shows a compact and boxy shape, while the latest images reveal parts of the headlight setup. Hyundai appears to be testing different headlight designs, which could point to different prototypes or variant-specific changes.

The EV also gets protective rubber flaps around the AC and DC charging ports. These covers should help protect the charging area from water and dirt. Earlier test vehicles also showed a camera setup for lane-keeping assistance.

Hyundai Sub-4m EV Features

The upcoming electric SUV could get Hyundai’s Pleos Connect system with a large 17-inch central display. Earlier spy shots also showed a digital instrument cluster. Hyundai could offer features such as ventilated seats and a panoramic glass roof.

The company has confirmed Level 2 ADAS for the SUV. A 360-degree camera, connected technology and other advanced safety features could also join the package.

Hyundai Sub-4m EV Battery and Range

Hyundai has not revealed the battery specifications yet. Reports suggest the SUV could use a high-density NMC battery pack, with capacities potentially ranging from 42kWh to 51kWh. The larger battery could offer a claimed range of around 500km.

The SUV will use a dedicated EV platform instead of an ICE-derived setup. Hyundai will manufacture the model in India and could position it below the Creta Electric in its EV lineup.

Hyundai Sub-4m EV Price and Rivals

Hyundai has not announced the price or official launch date. Reports suggest the new EV could start around Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. 12 lakh. It could compete with models such as the Tata Nexon EV and Kia Syros EV, along with other upcoming compact electric SUVs.
