Mercedes-AMG G 63 Offroad Pro Launched at Rs. 3.80 Crore
Mercedes-Benz has launched the Mercedes-AMG G 63 Offroad Pro in India at Rs. 3.80 crore, ex-showroom. The new limited-run variant adds dedicated off-road equipment to the performance-focused G-Class.
It costs Rs. 6 lakh more than the standard AMG G 63. Mercedes has also confirmed that only limited units have been allocated for the Indian market. The new variant retains the familiar 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine and adds suspension, traction and exterior upgrades designed for tougher off-road use.
Mercedes-AMG G 63 Offroad Pro Features
The biggest changes focus on the SUV’s off-road hardware. The G 63 Offroad Pro gets AMG Active Ride Control suspension with active roll stabilisation. It also features AMG Active Balance Control, which allows the roll stiffness to be adjusted across three stages depending on the terrain.
The SUV also gets AMG Traction Pro, available with the Rock and Sand driving modes. The system can control braking torque at individual wheels and offers seven stages of locking. This setup aims to improve traction on challenging surfaces.
Mercedes has added a Professional roof luggage rack with aluminium panels and a removable rear ladder. The SUV rides on exclusive 20-inch matte-black AMG alloy wheels.
Inside, it gets a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch touchscreen with the MBUX NTG7 system. Wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, augmented-reality navigation and a Burmester 3D surround-sound system are also available. The off-road display can show vehicle position, compass, altitude, steering angle, tyre pressure and differential-lock status.
Mercedes-AMG G 63 Offroad Pro Engine and Performance
The SUV continues with the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine. It produces 585hp and 850Nm, supported by a 22hp 48V mild-hybrid system. Power goes to all four wheels, and Mercedes claims a 0-100kph time of 4.4 seconds.
Price and Rivals
The Mercedes-AMG G 63 Offroad Pro costs Rs. 3.80 crore, ex-showroom. Its closest luxury SUV alternatives include the Land Rover Range Rover, Lamborghini Urus and Bentley Bentayga, although their powertrains and positioning differ.
