2026 Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition Launched at Rs. 36.51 Lakh: What’s New?

Toyota has launched the 2026 Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition in India with new styling elements and additional cabin features. The special edition starts at Rs. 36.51

lakh for the 4×2 manual version, while the automatic variant costs Rs. 38.72 lakh, both ex-showroom. Toyota will open bookings for the new Fortuner Leader Edition on October 12, 2026.

The latest version continues with the Fortuner’s familiar design and diesel powertrain, but adds blacked-out exterior elements, a dual-tone cabin and ambient lighting. The special edition remains limited to 4×2 configurations and does not receive any mechanical changes.

2026 Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition Design

The new Fortuner Leader Edition gets several exterior changes that give the SUV a darker and sportier appearance. Toyota has added a distinctive front grille, a black rear door garnish and gloss-black alloy wheels with matching hub caps. The SUV also gets a black roof treatment and a black-finished antenna.

Other styling elements include body-side mouldings and an exclusive bonnet emblem. The special edition will be available in three exterior colours: Super White, Platinum White Pearl and Attitude Black. Toyota has limited the changes to cosmetic updates, so the basic Fortuner design and body remain familiar.

2026 Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition Powertrain

The Fortuner Leader Edition continues with the familiar 2.8-litre four-cylinder diesel engine. The engine produces up to 204hp and 500Nm with the six-speed automatic gearbox. With the six-speed manual gearbox, torque output stands at 420Nm.

Toyota offers the Leader Edition only with a 4×2 rear-wheel-drive setup. Buyers can choose between manual and automatic transmissions. The company has not made any changes to the engine, gearbox or suspension for this edition. As a result, the Leader Edition focuses on styling and additional equipment rather than improved performance.

2026 Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition Cabin and Features

The cabin receives a dual-tone black and maroon theme for the seats and door trims. Toyota has also added ambient lighting and illuminated scuff plates to create a more premium cabin experience. The special edition continues with the existing Fortuner cabin layout.

Additional equipment includes auto-folding ORVMs and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). Toyota is also offering five years of complimentary roadside assistance with the Leader Edition. The standard warranty covers three years or 1,00,000km, while customers can extend the warranty up to five years or 2,20,000km.

2026 Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition Price and Bookings
