Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG Teased Ahead of Launch: Design, Engine, Features and Expected Price
Mahindra has teased the upcoming Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG ahead of its official debut on October 15, 2026. The new model will expand the compact SUV’s powertrain lineup, which currently includes petrol, diesel and electric options.
The CNG version will target buyers who want an SUV with lower running costs without switching to a smaller hatchback. It will also become the third compact SUV in India to offer a factory-fitted CNG option, following the Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Tata Nexon.
The latest teaser reveals key exterior details and confirms a panoramic sunroof. Mahindra will announce the remaining specifications and pricing closer to launch.

Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG: Design
The Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG will retain the familiar styling of the standard SUV, with a few design details inspired by the RevX range. The teaser shows a body-coloured panel between the headlamps, slim metallic inserts around the Mahindra Twin Peaks logo and the familiar split-headlamp setup. LED daytime running lights also feature in the front design.
The teaser confirms a panoramic sunroof, which could help the SUV stand out among CNG-powered rivals. The rear is expected to retain connected LED tail-lamps, a roof spoiler, roof rails and a chunky black bumper with a silver skid plate.
A CNG badge will help identify the new powertrain.
Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG: Powertrain
Mahindra is expected to equip the XUV 3XO CNG with a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine featuring multi-point fuel injection (MPFI). In its petrol configuration, this engine produces 111hp and 200Nm of torque. The company has not yet confirmed the power and torque figures in CNG mode or revealed the certified fuel efficiency.
The standard petrol model offers six-speed manual and automatic transmission options, but Mahindra has yet to announce the gearbox choices for the CNG variant. The SUV will receive a factory-fitted CNG system. Details about the tank configuration and its placement, which could affect boot space, should emerge at the official debut.
Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG: Cabin and Features
Mahindra has not revealed the complete cabin specifications of the XUV 3XO CNG yet. However, the SUV is expected to share most of its interior layout and equipment with the corresponding petrol variants.
Depending on the variant, the standard XUV 3XO offers a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless smartphone connectivity and dual-zone climate control.
Other available features include a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera and a power-adjustable driver’s seat. Mahindra could offer the CNG version in selected trims, with the final feature list and variant details expected at launch.
Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG: Safety Features
Mahindra has not announced the CNG variant’s complete safety equipment list. The standard XUV 3XO offers safety features such as six airbags, electronic stability control, hill-hold assist, ISOFIX child-seat mounts and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
Higher variants also offer a 360-degree camera and additional convenience features that can assist drivers while parking. The CNG version is expected to share several safety features with the corresponding petrol variants, although the final equipment may vary by trim.
Mahindra has also yet to disclose details about the CNG tank’s safety systems and installation. The company should confirm these specifications when it reveals the SUV.
Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG: Expected Price and Rivals
The Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG could cost around Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 1 lakh more than comparable petrol variants. For reference, the standard XUV 3XO starts at Rs. 7.79 lakh (ex-showroom).
Its main CNG rivals will include the Tata Nexon iCNG and Maruti Suzuki Brezza S-CNG. Mahindra will reveal the official prices and variant lineup closer to launch.
