Can It Still Drift?

The biggest fear among automotive purists was that adding all-wheel drive would dilute the sharp, tail-happy nature of the M2. Fortunately, BMW’s engineers anticipated this concern and included a dedicated rear-wheel-drive mode within the setup menu.

By adjusting the drivetrain settings and turning off the stability control, drivers can completely disengage the front axle. This sends 100% of the engine’s torque straight to the rear wheels.

This means enthusiasts can still enjoy the traditional, unadulterated M2 drifting experience whenever they find themselves on a closed circuit. This clever system strikes a perfect balance between maximum modern performance and classic driver engagement.
